New Release Hop Day 3: Stitched Mats, Ghostie Witch and Thanksgiving Wishes

Hi there!! I can't believe it's day three of our hop already! Whew! I have to come up for air! I've been in my office packing and shipping constantly with the HUGE response you've had to our new goodies so far! Thank you for that!!

I'm VERY excited to introduce another BRAND NEW goodie to you today. I love it so much I can hardly stand it.....it makes my head spin how awesome this set is.... We're also revisiting Ghostie Witch and Thanksgiving Wishes today - fabulous sets from 2 Cute Ink and The Sugar Kissed Cottage and it's my turn to share a Ghostie Witch card with you today and it might just be my favorite project this week! More on that in a bit.....

Not a second more.....I bring you Stitched Mats: Rectangles - hold on to your hats....there's more than meets the eye....

This is a set of six nested rectangle dies featuring our signature stitching detail. The most EXCITING thing about this set is that the largest die in the set was specifically created to cut a stitched detail border all the way around the edge of an A2 (4.25 x 5.5 in.) card!!!!! My head just about rocketed off my shoulders when I first tried this new goodie! It creates THE MOST amazing detail - you'll wonder where it's been all your life!!!

A little about my design ideas.....I wanted to bring you a die that stitched a border around the edge of an A2 card but a solid steel die would be expensive and would only give you that one use - a fabulous one, but only one. Sooooo, I decided to create this die with a hollow center and a clear backer (just like the largest flag from our Flags & Tags set) because this allows us to produce MORE products for you in the center and that's when I came up with the idea to nest a series of rectangle dies ALL with our stitching detail. So, each of the 5 smallest dies in the set not only cut a rectangle perfectly matted for its larger friend (great for layering), they also stitch that fabulous border detail! SWOON!!!!
These guys can be used for a million different purposes. They make fabulous sentiment panels or even AMAZING TAGS!

Now, I've done some experimenting with these guys that I would like to share with you........I am a perfectionist. When I used the largest die in this set to cut the stitched detail along the edge of my card I could see an embossed line from the frame of the die....(much like other nested, open center dies that you might be familiar with). So I found a way to produce a clean, stitching line WITHOUT having to rub my fingernail along the extra embossed line to make it disappear. Still with me? Here's what I did....

I have a Sizzix Big Kick and here is the sandwich that will work for it and for the Big Kick....

No crease whatsoever!!!!!!!! Now, you do NOT have to use this method....it's simply my experimentation and a method needed to suit my personality flaw of being a perfectionist, bwaaahahahaha!

(If you use a Cuttlebug, I have a similar stack for you and I will get it to you as soon as it's been design team tested, I promise.)

All this being said, I don't use this method when cutting the smaller rectangles. The embossed line doesn't bother me and I'm used to it from other nested sets I have. It also doesn't ever bother me when using a light weight card stock or patterned paper because it's so much thinner. :)

Ready for a project made with these guys??? Click on this picture so you can see a larger version of it.

I used the largest die in the set to stitch a border around my kraft card base but I also used three other dies from the set - you can see how the littlest one really makes a great sentiment panel!

I just love love love this set of dies - where have they been all my life?? This card also features our Fringe Flower Die and a sentiment from our Sentiment Flag Additions Stamp set, both currently available in our store. That border is the best thing that has ever happened to my cards....I'm not even kidding!

Also today, we're featuring projects made with Thanksgiving Wishes from Sugar Kissed Cottage as well as Ghostie Witch from 2 Cute Ink. To see my Thanksgiving Wishes Project Click HERE.
I'm going to share a Ghostie Witch project with you but before we do let's have a look at both sets...

Ghostie Witch my be the best grouping of sentiments paired with an image that we've ever done! I'm from Massachusetts...I'm sure some of you know that....yep, I have a wicked accent and say awesome... a lot. I can't help it..... I just do! I decided to incorporate some of my Boston into this set in the sentiment "Have a wicked sweet Halloween". Isn't that great? I'm also fond of the Ghostess with the Mostess sentiment as it's perfect to make a card or tag for the hostess of your Halloween party this year. I know my friend Suzie's getting one! I can hardly wait for her party this year! (It will probably be the next time I can get out with hubby and have some fun....it can't come soon enough....I digress)

For those of us who celebrate, this is the perfect set for Fall thank you cards and Thanksgiving Holiday cards, even placeholders at the holiday dinner table!!!! Karen Baker did a phenomenal job with the sentiments and OH, the fonts! I'm a font junkie....sometimes I will buy a stamp set just because the font is so dang cute and this one is no exception!!!!

Here is my project using Ghostie Witch AND Stitched Mats....

You should see this in person. The stitching around the edge really jumps off the page on the orange card stock. I used these FAB papers from My Little Shoebox which are SO FUN! I scored this web border punch with the corner punch at TJ Max for $6.99! Aren't they usually like $25?? SCORE!!! The web brad is from Martha Stewart also found at TJ Max for $1!! Sometimes I find the neatest paper crafting supplies there supah cheap! Yesss!!! My ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel and I added in some purple tulle into my bow....it's hard to see in this shot (sadly, photography is NOT my strong suit) but in person this whole design makes me smile. My Ghostie is colored with Copics and cut out as is my moon image which is one of the background builders in this set which I love to include in our 2 Cute Ink sets. Of course I emphasized the WICKED in my sentiment by adding it twice :)
