It's Flashback Friday

Today is Flashback Friday!! This is always a fun post because we feature a brand new project made with previously released stamps and dies from our line. Hopefully, this inspires you to bust out these goodies that you might already have and try something new with them OR that this inspires you to take advantage of the SALE on the items featured here in this post today!

Design Team Member, Amy Kolling is responsible for this lovely card today made entirely with previously released goodies from our collection. Have a look!

Amy started with a raspberry A2 card base. Then, she made a raspberry panel just slightly smaller than her base and die cut this panel with our Quilted Stitched Pattern Die. The smaller panel has been adhered with foam tape for just the right amount of lift and depth!

To make the lovely focal panel you see here, Amy used our Dual Dotted Hearts Dies and cut the largest heart from white paper which she then stamped with small hearts from our Love You More Stamp Set. She then used our Valentine's Word Tags Dies to cut out the love word you see. Because these words are actually tags they feature a cute, built in hang hole which has been adorned with perfectly matching twine here. This element was then glued to the white, dotted heart as shown.

Next, Amy used a sentiment from our Sweet Celebration Stamps which she stamped and heat embossed in white on a vellum strip which was trimmed making a double ended flag. This piece was perfectly placed over the love word tag and heart for a fantastic focal image on this terrific Valentine!

This is a fantastic sample, Amy, and really shows our customers and readers how a card can come together to wonderfully with minimal stamping and clever use of die cuts!! Love that!!!

Many of the items used on Amy's card are on sale today and through next Friday, February 2nd 2018 or while supplies last. In fact ALMOST ALL of our Valentine's Day items are included in this sale for you (with the exception of our Latest Release Items) so it's an excellent time to shop!!

I have a bonus project for you today as well!!

I made these gift card holders and I thought I'd share them with you.

So, I've had these American Express Gift Cards that I've been meaning to wrap up FOREVER. They are actually Christmas gifts that have now been turned into Valentines because I was so sick over Christmas I just didn't get to sending them out. I started by making a long strip of card stock 3.75" w x 7.50" long and then I scored it to create the flap over the gift card. This is the part I decorated.

These were actually very easy! On each one I scribbled three different colored Zig Real Brush Markers in pink tones which I then blended with an Aqua Brush. Once dry, I splattered with some white paint and then once dry I sprayed with some Mister Huey's for lots of shine. I lets these dry overnight. The next day, I used my MISTI tool to stamp my lips image from our Smooches Stamp Set in Versamark ink and then heat embossed in gold and the also stamp each greeting in black ink. I tied each one off with some gold twine and called them done. I like them!! They're sweet, simple and make a pretty gift!

I hope you've enjoyed our Flashback Friday Post today and are excited about our SALE

Thank you so much and we'll be seeing you very soon!!

  2. A great card Amy and I LOVE that it is from older sets (some of which, I have and some of which, I WANT! LOL) I also love your gift card holders Laura. I make 50+ gift cards for my Mom and MIL each Christmas alone, never mind the gift cards I make throughout the year, so I am always looking for new ideas. Thanks for sharing these as they are awesome.
