Today we gather to celebrate Layton!
My crafty college, Lea Lawson, knows what it's like for parents with a baby in the NICU. Her son Layton Caleb spent over 5 months in the NICU before being called to be with his big sister in heaven.
During that time a small, thoughtful gift card was presented to Lea for Starbuck's, a place where NICU parents at The University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital visit when they step out for a minute to grab a breath of fresh air and regroup. That small gesture meant so much to Lea it has inspired her to do something meaningful in the name of her son, Layton, for parents with NICU babies at that location currently.
We have a huge Card Drive blog hop going on in Layton's honor, with tons of amazing inspiration! We also have a fundraising effort, where every $5 donated gets you an entry into the prize drawing. There are over $2000 in prizes, sponsored by some of the most amazing stamping & papercrafting companies in the industry!
WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
1. DONATE! - directly to Layton's Legacy YouCaring Fundraiser. For every $5 donated, you will be entered into the drawing for one of the prizes above!! All winners will be drawn from donations made thru the YouCaring Site. **Prizes will be drawn and announced here on my blog on Saturday, May 19th.**
3. CREATE! - this is also a card drive, and if you'd like to create a card using the theme/moodboard below, it would be so greatly appreciated! Lea will be including these handmade treasures with the giftcards when I hand them over to the NICU social worker, and her dream is that the NICU will be covered in beautiful creations inspired by Layton!! Link them up HERE, and then please email Lea (lea@lealawsoncreates.com) to get the mailing address - and note that they will need them to arrive by May 31st.
Here is the gorgeous mood board that Lea has made to inspire your donation projects.
In support of today's event, Lil' Inker Designs has purchased 4 $25 gift certificates to Starbuck's which are on their way to Lea so she can gift them to NICU parents.
We are also giving away a $50 gift certificate to Lil' Inker Designs!
Again, to be eligible to win this prize, you can donate to Layton's fund OR you can make a card and link it up. Either way, you're eligible to win and you're supporting moms and dads who need our love and support so much.
I hope you've enjoyed this stop along our hop today and the card I made to share with you!
Thank you so very much for joining me and have a wonderful day!
