Falling for You by Designer Amy Kolling

Wow! Today it really looks like FALL here in Kanasas! The trees are absolutely at their best right now.....gorgeous reds, yellows, browns.  

I have a quick card to share using some of these colors and die cuts from Lil' Inker Designs.

Here I've used the Stitched Sentiment Flag die to add a border of sorts to my card adding in some leaves from the Acorn die and stamp set with that cute sentiment, makes for a very CAS card!

Runway Inspired Challenge & Lil' Inker Designs!

Hi there! How are you today?

I feel like I haven't posted in bit so I'm very excited to be able to share something with you for today!

Lil' Inker Designs is sponsoring this week's Runway Inspired Challenge, #22 !!

 

 

This has got to be one of the coolest challenges going right now! I love that our inspiration comes straight from the fashion catwalk! Have a look at this week's inspiration photo...

 

 

 

I think it's pretty cool to be able to combine my love of clothing with my passion for card making!!

 

I drew inspiration from the color of the clothing this week as well as the graphic print of the blouse and even a tiny touch of bling from the buttons on the jacket. 

 

Here is the project I made based on this week's photo....

 

 

I started by making an A2 card base from kraft card stock and I die cut the stitched border using our NEW Stitched Mats-Rectangles Dies. (The Stitched Mats Dies are currently sold out BUT I will be receiving my restock THIS SATURDAY, Yahoo!).

 

I then made a panel from cream card stock and layered it with strips of chevron patterned paper diagonally. I matted this layer with red card stock and then I got to some embellishing!!

 

Here I used the Jingle Joy set from Lil' Inker Designs which includes those J and Y dies as well as that CUTE jingle bell die to spell the word "JOY"....love that set! I tied off my focal panel with red ribbon and added a snowflake, red button tied with twine and silver pearl in its center.

 

I can't tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed sitting down to make this card!!! I found the photo to be an EXCELLENT jumping off point!

Next on the Agenda: Stamping Around New Hampshire!

Now that it's October and last week's release is complete it's time to look to the next big thing and for me that's Stamping Around New Hampshire!

For those of you who don't already know from my accent (you should read my posts and drop your "r's") and from my extreme overuse of the word "awesome", I'm from Massachusetts and this year's Stamping Around event is right in my back yard in New Hampshire and I've been asked by coordinator, Julie Masse, to TEACH a class as this year's event!!

I have not yet been to a Stamping Around event so I'm super super excited about it! 1: I get to get away for a night BY MYSELF which hasn't happened in years upon years AND 2: I get to be surrounded with ladies who love to craft as much as I do. SIGN ME UP, PLEASE!!

For any of you not familiar with Stamping Around HERE is a link to their site. This year we're staying at the quaint Sise Inn in Portsmouth New Hampshire and there is a fabulous roster of teachers for this year's event. Click HERE to see the instructors.

I have been working diligently behind the scenes with Lil' Inker Design Team Member Alicia Thelin who has designed a really fabulous project for us to create in class. We'll be making two cards and an adorable card holder which is really perfect to give as a hostess gift. Each person who attends my class will receive a complimentary 6x6 Echo Park This & That Christmas paper pad as well as a special, only available here die set from Lil' Inker Designs just as a way of saying thank you for your attendance! You'll get a hands on experience with one of our most popular products this year, the Small Bow Die, and you'll get to see the sets from our illustrated lines from 2 Cute Ink and The Sugar Kissed cottage in person! Of course we'll have some prizes to give away just to even make it more exciting!

I think it's going to be a lot of fun. If you're local to New Hampshire or in the New England area come play with us October 26th and 27th at Stamping Around New Hamphire!

New Release Wrap Up - WINNERS Announced!
