Happy World Card Making Day 2018

Hello there, crafty friends!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!!!!

I celebrate, I'm stopping by with a fun post for you today and a couple of projects I made. Lil' Inker Designs has two categories of products called Cover Up Dies and Quilted Stitched Dies. Our Cover Up Dies typically cut out a rectangle piece with a pattern or design cut into it that can be adhered to a card front while our Quilted Stitched Dies add a stitched pattern or background directly onto your card front. I love them because they each add visual interest and texture to cards fast and beautifully. These are some of the best tools a card maker can have - products that give you versatility but beautiful projects quickly and they're what I always reach for when making a card.

When I realized that celebrating World Card Making Day was quickly approaching I thought it would be the perfect time to do a sale on both of these die categories AND release a brand new Cover Up Die!!! Let's get right to the goodness!!!!

Here is a look at our brand new Cover Up Die: Diagonal Plaid.

This die is so cleverly designed because it's meant to be layered but only one die is required to get these gorgeous layered results. You can actually achieve a tri-colored plaid by diecutting with two different colors of cardstock and using a third colored card base.

This new die is on SALE THIS WEEKEND in honor of World Card Making Day. Read on for more details.

Would you like to see this in action? Here are a couple of things I made using this great new die.

Here, to make my background, I simply cut my background using my new Diagonal Plaid Die twice from white cardstock. I was able to make the cuts layer perfectly by rotating one of the layers to get this dimensional background. I added both layers over kraft cardstock. I really like this look. Then, I made my focal images. I started with my Coffee Cozy 2 Die which I cut from teal stock. Then, I adorned it with the florals you see from our new Fall Foliage Stamp and Die Set which I simply heat embossed in white and die cut. My sentiment is from my Bouquet of Roses Stamp Set and the banner die is from the Warm Welcome Die Set. Loving this!!!

I have to say, I think this one is my favorite of the two! Here I made a tri-colored plaid by using white and kraft plaid layers over a burnt orange base. I simply sprinkled my florals over top and once I like where they landed I picked them up with Press n' Seal, added some adhesive and fixed them to my card base. My hello sentiment was created using our Hello Word Die and I decided to use my Nuvo Gold Gilding Flakes. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it took me FOREVER to make the sentiment just right. I need to watch a tutorial, I think, but I was able to make it work.

Wondering if you've noticed that my photos are brighter and clearer in the last few posts? I purchased a Foldio so that I could photograph any time of day in any light and get great results. It's my new favorite tool other than stamps and dies.

OK! So more about our SALE for World Card Making Day......
