It's Flashback Friday

Each month a member of our Design Team stops by with a Flashback Friday post and will share a project using a previously released stamp or die as the focus of the post - a bit of an oldie but goodie if you will, and in true Lil' Inker Designs style the item featured will also be on sale for a limited time! Waaaa-hoooooooo!!!!

Today, it's me, Chrissy and I'm ready to share my creation with you.

Every year I create Christmas ornaments for my nephews for our ornament exchange.  I've done stockings and mittens but this year I decided to create lollipops.  The Dual Dotted Circles were the perfect starting point for my creations!

These dies as SO useful!  Not only do they make great elements to add to cards, scrapbook pages, tags, etc, they are also awesome for stitching having holes already cut.  They were too perfect for my ornaments this year!

Here's a look at how I used the Dual Dotted Circles.

Aren't they cute?  Here's a look at each one and a brief rundown of how I created them.

I started this snowflake lollipop by cutting two of the second largest Dual Dotted Circles from green felt.  The white felt was cut using the next circle down in size.  I lined up the white circle on one of my green circles and attached it by stitching around the outside of the white with green thread.  Then I went to work created my design.  I made this snowflake design up as I went starting with the sequin and bead in the center.  I slowly stitched my snowflake, adding sequins and beads to each large point.  I finished the design off with four french knots.  Next I sewed the top piece to the back green piece leaving a hole large enough for stuffing the ornament and gluing in the stick.  Note:  I add a little tag for each of my nephew's initial to each ornament but it's not necessary.  After my ornament is stuffed and the stick (I used a wooden skewer) is glued in place, I continue the stitching to close the ornament around the stick making sure to go over and around the stick a few extra times before tying off the thread.  Finally, I add a ribbon hanger to the top back side of the ornament.  Here's a look at the next design:

For my second ornament, I cut the red lollipop base x2 using the same Dual Dotted Circle that I used for the snowflake pop.  Then using the next step down, I cut the light green circle and a dark green circle.  I wanted a dark green border around my light green circle so I cut the center out of the dark green circle using the next Dual Dotted Circle in line.  I created the perfect border with two rows of circles for stitching.  The center white circle is created with the smallest Dual Dotted Circle.  This ornament started by attaching the small white circle to the light green circle with a red sequin and gold bead and some fun stitching.  Then, I attached the dark green border first by sewing on the white bead border and then attaching the entire shape to the red base circle with the red bead border.  Then, I finished the ornament just like the one above.

There are a ton of designs you could create for these lollipops using the Dual Dotted Circles and just imagine what you could create with all the other Dual Dotted shapes.  I hope you liked the two I shared and I hope to see some more fun felt creations coming from you guys!

For a limited time, our Dual Dotted Circles are 20% off through November 10th, 2017 or while supplies last! And just to make this sale even MORE FUN than it already is, we're also including our Dual Dotted Hearts in the sale too! YAY!

Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you had fun checking out my ornaments and enjoy shopping the sale!
