New Release Hop Day 2!

Hello there!!! Welcome to our New Release Hop Day 2! Did you see the new Mom and Dad Word Dies and Coordinating Stamps that we showcased yesterday? Just in case.....

A fabby new word die just for Dad, but with a neat little twist!

Of course we had to make an equally fabby die for Mom too! I LURVE the heart in the center!

A really super awesome stamp set that works with BOTH of our new word dies or stands alone on its own! Easier on the wallet and more bang for your back if you ask me....two things I love!!!

Oh my GOODNESS are these guys fun to play with!!! These are super trendy dies but I even think they're cooler and trendier than standard word dies because they feature the textural or decorative elements in the middle in place of letters! Such a neat little twist!!

We also released a brand new Stitched Scallop Border Die this week!

And, seriously? Where has this been my whole life?? It's a new take on a classic and the stitching detail we've added just makes for the coolest looking die cuts! It also coordinates so nicely with so many of our Signature Stitched Dies!

We designed this die so that it is 5.5 inches long which means when you use this die on the long side of an A2 card it will fit PERFECTLY without any trimming - which is so great because you get to keep all the great, stitchy detail. BUT if you want to turn it and use it on the 4.25 in side of your A2 card it still looks equally fantastic with just a little trimming. I decided I wanted this die to cut both a scalloped edge and a flat edge because I thought it would make a great card topper as well!

So, I have a little project to share with you today........

You'll notice that I flipped my pieces to orientate up and layered the die cuts together slightly off center from each other. Sort of an interesting color gradient, right? I would never have put these together but I found them on my desk laying like that and I liked the way they looked together. Here I used a sentiment from our Darling Diamonds Stamp Set and the heart from our new Mom Word Die cut from cork sheet. I really like how this turned out. Using these products made for a simple, yet really neat little thank you. I am going to send this to my new Sister-in-law who made the greatest Easter Basket for my little Keithie!

Ok, so that does it for me today! I am going to remind you about our prizes.....we're giving away 2 $10 store credits to 2 lucky winners...and I'm felling generous....so there may just be an additional prize! You can be eligible to win by leaving comments for our designers. We'll pick our winners from one secret prize blog!

Remember, all of the goodies we've released and showcased this week are available right now in our store HERE!

Your next stop on our hop today is the fabulous and talented Alicia Thelin! Head on over her way to see what creativity she has in store for your today!

Enjoy the rest of our hop and we'll see you tomorrow for Group Post Day - the final day of our hop!

New Release Hop Day 1 - WELCOME!!!

Hi there and welcome to day one of our New Release Hop!! We have some really exciting goodies releasing today! Let's get right to it...

I am obsessed with type and font! I've been planning some word dies for us for a while now and I thought....what can we do to make them awesome but just a little bit different? I am so excited to bring you our new word dies - with a twist!

Isn't this the cutest and yet somehow still a masculine way to put the attention on dad? I love this Dad Word Die. It's visually interesting, and trendy with the use of the symbol in the center! This die is the perfect size at 3 in. wide and 1.5 in. tall and super fun to play with especially when paired with the coordinating stamp set we've created for this die. More on that in a second!

Of course we had to do one for mom too! Don't you just love this? I am in love with this Mom Word Die and I love the heart in the center in place of an "o"! Another neat little twist!! What's even cooler is that the heart in the center can be used for other things! I love it when that happens!

Our new Word Dies are FANTASTIC on their own but check out this terrific stamp set that will really take these dies places!! We kept the font classic and neutral so that it would be perfect for both masculine and girly cards and the included border stamps really allows you to do so much with this set! What's great about this set is that is can be used for loads of other projects separate from the word dies. You've gotta love a set with versatility! I know I do!!!!!

So, seriously? This next die is one we should have done AGES ago!!! It's a new take on a familiar favorite! Adding the stitching to this die just adds such a fantastic detail! You are going to wonder where this has been all your life! I can't stop reaching for it!! AND it's the perfect size. It's exactly 5.5 in. long so that you can use it on an A2 card vertically without having to trim it down keeping all that great, stitchy detail!

Today we are going to showcase projects featuring our Mom and Dad Dies and coordinating stamp set. Here are a couple lil' things I made.

I just love the 80's vibe this card has! I started with a white A2 base which I spritzed with some Angel Mists. Once it dried I added some neon washi tapes (I FINALLY BOUGHT SOME WASHI, GO ME!) and I cut out two mom words and layered them; neon pink and black, giving it a shadowed effect. I thought the denim ribbon was the perfect accent!

Here is die cut mom from a cork sheet. OH this looks so amazing in real life! I used our new Stitched Scallop Border die here which I cut from patterned paper and just a simple strip of orange card stock. I added in my light blue jute twine and called 'er done! I'm so excited that I will be ahead of the game for Mother's Day cards!!! Yahoooooooooo!!!

Here are two cards I made using our new Dad Word Die and coordinating stamp set. On this first one, I cut DAD from aqua card stock and stamped the fringed line border stamp over it to give it texture and I added the sentiment in the polka dot strip.

On the card below, it's hard to tell but I used the negative here. I die cut DAD from white card stock which I had previously cut using our Stitched Mats: Rectangles. Then behind the negative space I adhered a strip of patterned paper. Over the negative space, I used foam dots to affix DAD to the focal panel. It left me with a terrific 3-D effect!!!

You are going to love love love having these new dies and stamps in your collection. They make easy and yet such attractive cards with little effort! I love when products make card making easier and faster too! I think that you will love that there is only one stamp set that coordinates so perfectly with each of these dies....a little easier on the wallet, right?  In our store you may opt to purchase each of these three pieces individually so you're able to pick and choose the ones you love. But I think you'll find yourself wanting all three pieces when you see how affordably priced they are!!

Ok, so per usual fashion we'll be picking a secret prize blog! Please leave comments for our designers along the way if you'd like to be eligible to win one of 2 $10 store credits and I might just be giving away a lil' something extra this time around! :) So the more comments you leave the better your chances of winning!

I am going to send you on your way to visit Designer, Alicia Thelin! Enjoy our hop today and we'll see you tomorrow with more fun and inspiring projects with a focus on our beautiful new Stitched Scallop Border Die.

Don't forget, everything you see is available in our store today and just about EVERY PRODUCT you've been waiting on is back in stock and ready to go home with you! We are also having a sale on some oldie but goodie dies like our Mini Pinwheel and Original Pinwheel and Stitched Sentiment Flag Die! Yeee ha!!

Have a wonderful day and we'll see you tomorrow! Thanks for joining us!

Speech Bubbles Challenge - Moxie Fab World

So, if you can believe it, I had time to make a card for another Moxie Fab World Challenge!

The truth is....while I've been recovering from surgery my hubby's been home and he has worked SO hard to completely re-work my Lil' Inker office and now that it's complete I don't want to leave it - hence the two challenge cards I've been able to make.

Everything is super organized too so I can actually find things. It's so amazing and so easy to create this way!!!! WOW!!!! So, I decided to make another card and this one is for the Speech Bubbles Challenge in the Moxie Fab World celebrating Card Creations Week. Have you seen the new issue of Card Creations? It's AMAZING!!!

Ok, so here is my speech bubble card......

I thought it would be neat if I used one of the doodle frames from the Notebook Doodle Set as my speech bubble and some stars as my thought bubbles. I even managed to squeeze in the Notebook Die as a background for my focal image! I used these bright and cheery papers from Echo Park's Happy Day Collection which I forgot I had and rediscovered during my office extravaganza, HA! I love this "UR GR8" sentiment! I colored just bits of the frame and my stars with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Moxie Fab Tuesday's Trigger Challenge!

Hi there!!

I was so inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World Blog! I just love the interesting colors - I don't know if it's because it's so Springy but I just loved it and I decided I just had to sit down and create something!

Here is this week's inspiration photo....

And here's a little ditty I put together this afternoon featuring some of my favorite new supplies that I just can't stop reaching for.....

I had so much fun working with these colors. They are definitely a bit outside my comfort zone, but I love a challenge! I tried to incorporate all the textures of the woman's dress by stamping the textured pattern on my card base and using texture as a focal point.

I hope you like it! Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Designed To Color & Lil' Inker Designs Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hi there, Everyone!!!

I'm so excited to be joining you today as part of a fun hop! We are celebrating for a couple of reasons: Lil' Inker Designs was featured in the current, first ever quarterly issue of Designed To Color in their Hue's Who column and......

and it's the very first birthday of Designed To Color! To celebrate both we have a great line up of designers for you to hop with today!

Hopefully, you've arrived here from the fabulous and talented Isha's blog. If not, head on back to the beginning of the hop at the Designed To Color blog so you don't miss out on any greatness!!!

For any Designed to Color Fans that might be visiting the Lil' Inker Designs blog for the first time....WELCOME!!! We are a growing company who designs and manufactures clear stamps and dies in the freshest designs! We feature two illustrated lines in our store: 2 Cute Ink, which is a fun and cute line of animals with awesome sentiments and our Sugar Kissed Cottage which is also fun and cute but depicts vintage inspired people to color with fantastically designed sentiments. Lil' Inker Designs was "born" when I (Laura Pryor) had an idea for a die and stamp set that I couldn't find on the market. I grouped with a talented and professional graphics artist friend of mine from high school - the amazing Ariana Grant - and the rest is, as they say, history! Today we have a full line of fun and innovative clear stamps and dies that we're so proud of!

Today, each designer has made a birthday themed card to celebrate Designed To Color's First Birthday!!!! Here's mine!!!

I am absolutely obsessed with our Snarky Lady I set from our Sugar Kissed Cottage line and I just couldn't resist getting crafty with her when I saw the theme of today's hop.

I started by coloring our Snarky Lady with Copic markers and trimming her out. On a teal base I mounted patterned papers in sort of a paper-blocking fashion from My Mind's Eye and tied the base with my favorite twill ribbon. I then stamped my sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with black embossing power. Of course I had to embellish so I added a trio of buttons and some ab crystal rhinestones.

Here is a peek at our Snarky Lady I set in its entirety... What's your favorite sentiment??

Before I let you go...what's a hop without PRIZES?? Lil' Inker Designs is giving away a prize pack of stamps to one lucky winner! Designed To Color has a copy of their current issue to give away but also the June/July, August/September, AND the October/November issue (isn't that amazing?) and Carisa has a prize on her blog for you as well!! All you have to do is leave us some love along your way today to be eligible to win!  The hop ends on March 7th 11:59 CST.  The winners of the prizes will be posted no later than March 9th!

Isn't this FUN???

Here is a list of all the designers who are posting today!
